Frequently Asked Questions
Do you work with children?
Yes! We work with clients ages 3 and up. When working with clients under age 12, we encourage parents/guardians to participate in at least one 30-minute session per month to discuss treatment progress and strategies to support continued growth outside of sessions. The level of family involvement in adolescent therapy is based on individual client needs and is decided in collaboration with the client, family, and therapist. Learn more about our therapists HERE.
Do you offer virtual counseling sessions?
Yes! We offer both in-person and virtual counseling sessions. We prefer to meet in-person for our first session together and am happy to meet virtually after that, as long as there is treatment growth and no safety concerns. To learn more about virtual therapy, schedule a free 15-minute consultation HERE.
What does it mean to be a neurodiversity-affirming therapist?
It means that the strengths and needs of neurodivergent people are acknowledged and respected in the therapy process. We do not try to change neurodivergent people to fit within neurotypical norms. Instead, we work with our clients to help them discover what will help them thrive, based on their goals and values. Learn more about our neurodiversity-affirming approach HERE.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes, we are an in-network provider with Aetna, Moda, and United Healthcare. If we are out-of-network with your insurance provider, you may be able to get up to 50-80% of treatment costs reimbursed by your insurance plan. We’ll provide the documentation you need to request reimbursement. Learn more about insurance billing HERE.
What will therapy cost me?
One of the biggest factors in the cost of therapy is the duration of treatment. You should feel like the time and money you put into therapy is getting you the results you are looking for within a reasonable timeframe. We provide high-quality care and clear information about how we will work together to reach your goals. You can expect to notice improvement within a few weeks and experience significant growth towards your goals within a few months.
Other factors in the cost of counseling include what your in your insurance plan will cover or reimburse. If we don’t accept your insurance, we’ll provide you with a good-faith-estimate of total treatment costs prior to your first session. Learn more about the process to determine your therapy costs HERE.
