Frequently Asked Questions
Do you work with children?
Yes! I work with clients ages 8 and up. I also work with parents of children who are younger than 8. When working with clients under age 12, I ask parents/guardians to participate in at least one 30-minute session per month to discuss treatment progress and strategies to support continued growth outside of sessions. When working with adolescents, I prefer to connect with parents/guardians at least quarterly. The level of family involvement in adolescent therapy is based on individual client needs and decided in collaboration with the client, family, and therapist.
Do you offer virtual counseling sessions?
Yes! I offer both in-person and virtual counseling sessions. I prefer to meet in-person for our first session together and am happy to meet virtually after that, as long as there is treatment growth and no safety concerns.
What does it mean to be a neurodivergent-affirming therapist?
It means that the strengths and needs of neurodivergent people are acknowledged and respected in the therapy process. I do not try to change neurodivergent people to fit within neurotypical norms. Instead, I work with my clients to help them discover what will help them thrive, based on their goals and values.
What will therapy cost me?
One of the biggest factors in the cost of therapy is the duration of treatment. You should feel like the time and money you put into therapy is getting you the results you are looking for within a reasonable timeframe. I provide high-quality care and clear information about how we will work together to reach your goals. You can expect to notice improvement within a few weeks and experience significant growth towards your goals within a few months.
Other factors in the cost of counseling include what your in your insurance plan will cover or reimburse, and if any flexible payment options are available. I offer a limited number of sliding scale appointments. Please contact me for more information about payment.
Do you accept insurance?
I am an out-of-network provider for most insurance companies. I am in the process of becoming a provider with United, Moda, and Care Oregon (OHP). I provide superbills for clients seeking out-of-network reimbursement from their insurance company.
Where are you located?
My office is in a cute Victorian building in the Goose Hollow neighborhood, near Providence Park and Lincoln High School. The address is 916 SW King Ave. Suite 103. I love welcoming clients to this warm, inviting space.
