Maddie Branaugh, MA (they/them/theirs) - Registered Associate Therapist
Hi, I’m Maddie! One of my greatest joys as a therapist is witnessing my clients move through the world authentically, experiencing genuine support by others who understand them, both in the therapy room and beyond. For many of my clients, that means learning to be curious about how neurodiversity impacts their life, and finding enough safety to let go of the masks they’ve developed to protect themselves.
As a queer, neurodivergent kid growing up in semi-rural Oregon, I understand what it’s like to feel misunderstood. It was exhausting trying to figure out how to make sense of who I was in a world that wasn’t designed for me. Art and creativity were important tools I used to discover aspects of my identity that I didn’t have words to describe.
My clients are often looking for someone who understands the impact of living with a marginalized identity. They want to find a therapist that they can relate to authentically, and who can help them find language to validate their internal experiences. I work with couples who desire to be more fully known and understood by their partner(s); teens who are grappling with burden of all of society’s pressures as they learn to make space for their true selves; adults who are unpacking a lifetime of harm from living in an ableist world; and many other folks who want to find peace, belonging, and freedom to be themselves.
Fun Facts:
I am obsessed with whale watching. When I’m not scanning the nautical horizon for glimpses of them, you might find me breathing in the fresh forest air, tending to my garden, or pumping iron at my community gym.
